Eula
Wool Sucking
(Famous Swords)

Sometimes as ferocious as what the title references (i.e. cats), but then again just as mysterious and calm, this Brooklyn trio spearheaded by songwriter and vocalist Alyse Lamb might be a post-punk outfit, but certainly not in the traditional sense. Though they’re noisey and dissonant, ultimately these are love songs with plenty of pretty moments between bouts of intensity that borders on rage. When they’re serene, the songs could soundtrack cuddling with your feline, but when things start to roar, well, it may seem like Mr. Whiskers got into your Babes In Toyland albums and wants to get wild.
