Steve Grand
All American Boy
(Grand Nation)

Mainstream media quickly adopted Steve Grand as the poster boy for gay country music. However, he sounds to me more like a former Drive-Thru Records artist who grew up, expanded his wings and graduated from party songs. Energetic, emotive pop-rock that sometimes makes you want to mull things over and other times will want to get you out on the dance floor, Grand has massive pop appeal and a slickness designed for the FM dial, but with a strong set of pipes and the ability to write intelligent songs. If a band like The Starting Line grew up in the south and listened to Fall Out Boy and Bruno Mars it might sound like this. (Tom Haugen)

Purchase All American Boy on iTunes.
