Exclusive Album Stream: La Armada – “Crisis EP”

We’re excited to bring you the exclusive album stream of La Armada‘s Crisis EP, out now on Profane Existence and Fat Sandwich Records.

The EP was recorded by Andy Nelson of Weekend Nachos and features seven tracks of fiery, sociopolitical hardcore punk. Crisis is a focused effort which hones in on the percussive side of La Armada’s native Caribbean music while staying true to its DIY punk and hardcore roots. These new songs showcase a variety of rhythmic patterns seldom heard in heavy crossover music while maintaining the attack and intensity that characterizes the band’s ferocious live show.

About La Armada:

Originally from the Dominican Republic, La Armada released two albums before relocating to Chicago in 2007. In the past few years, the band has toured the U.S. relentlessly in support of its first proper full-length on Fat City Records, which garnered critical acclaim from press as well as fans of  punk, grindcore, powerviolence, crust-punk and traditional hardcore and metal.  La Armada spent most of the winter writing and recording Crisis, a much more focused effort which hones in on the percussive side of its native Caribbean music while staying true to its DIY punk and hardcore roots.  Crisis showcases a variety of rhythmic patterns seldom heard in heavy crossover music while maintaining the attack and intensity that characterizes La Armada’s ferocious live show.
