Chuck Ragan and Rocky Votolato Stream ‘Kindred Spirit’

To continue with the spirit of comradery that is ever present in the worlds of both Chuck Ragan and Rocky Votolato, the two have paired up for a new split 10” called Kindred Spirit.

The six-song collaboration comes out next week on June 2 but is streaming in full via The A.V. Club today: http://www.avclub.com/article/stream-split-ep-kindred-spirits-chuck-ragan-and-ro-219992

Although his career as a singer-songwriter spans longer than anything else, Chuck Ragan has been playing in punk bands since the early 90s, most notably with legendary Gainesville rockers Hot Water Music. His most recent solo effort, Till Midnight, came out in spring of 2014 and was praised by the likes of Paste, American Songwriter and Rolling Stone, who called it an “impassioned, undeniable shot of singalong Americana.”

Pre-orders for Kindred Spirit are available here.

Over the course of the last 15 years, Rocky Votolato has produced some of the most powerful music to come out of Seattle, an impressive canon anchored by earnest, lyrical songwriting, and delivered in a unique indie-folk-punk style that has evolved out of the Pacific Northwest music scene he was raised in. Produced by Chris Walla (Death Cab For Cutie), his latest album Hospital Handshakes is unlike anything Rocky has released before.
