We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Long Time’s new music video for their song “River” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Never Alone, which is scheduled to be released through Medical Records on October 13th.
Andrew G Nault of Long Time comments on the video:
“I (Andrew) met Victor (“River” video director, Sun Glitters) while touring with Arms and Sleepers in Luxembourg. We opened for him at his record release for ‘This Will be Forever’, which is a conceptual record meant to be consumed in tandem with Victor’s beautiful videos. As I watched his set I was completely engulfed and knew he could take ‘River’ to the dreamy place we needed it to be.”
In regards to the new single the band states, “‘River’ is a song about learning how to fully commit yourself to something, be it an idea, lifestyle or ideal… to plunge into something fully without reservation or doubt. It’s about the realization that although the pursuit may feel isolating and solitary, we are not alone in it. Much like a river and all it contains, moving separate yet together. The song invokes one of the main themes to Joseph Conrad’s, The Heart Of Darkness: ‘We live as we dream: alone.’ But we are together in our aloneness.”
Some say that every note has already been played in every possible order, and combination. Given that there are only 12, that is undoubtedly true. Yet there are those that continue to stand out and push forward. Boston based power trio, Long Time, shines with a respectful homage to influence. To those that came before. Those that chose to explore. Though their backgrounds may be diverse, it is the combination of the three members that make Long Time’s sound fresh. From crushing to warm, light to dark, Long Time has found their place in perspective and is not afraid to take you there with them.
