We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Bear State’s new music video for their song “Always In Space” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Misc. Objects, which is scheduled to be released this summer through Moone Records.

The band comments one the video: “My nephew and brother created this odd, charming cartoon of me. It’s my intention for every piece of this animation to be mind melting. It’s a story of irritability and selfishness, told with such pretty, colorful motion.”

Bear State is the jangly “outsider pop” project of Phoenix, AZ’s Caleb Dailey & friends. Tracked almost entirely by Dailey at his home while his wife and baby slept, Misc. Objects is a collection of minimal, spacious, and timeless tunes.

Says its creator, “I was trying to remove the excess clutter in my songcraft, to highlight the most valuable pieces. In a way, I was trying to speak to mundane life, and my relationship with the world and my community.”

Indeed, Misc Objects is a deeply intimate album of empty spaces and bare melodies, full of white noise and ungrounded guitars. Listen quietly through these gently Beatles-meet-Pavement songs… you might hear the sound of cartoons being watched, or a child’s voice.
