We’re pleased to bring you the Lapsaria’s new song “Throe” (listen below), which is scheduled to be officially released on April 21st, and is available on a limited edition 7″ lathe.
Lapsaria’s new release Throe proves pure anguish has a sound. “Love is blind.” “No, no, no. It’s worse. Love distorts things. Or even worse, love is something you never asked for.” Then Throe opens holding nothing back – aggressive blast beats, guitar wailing, punchy bass, all this paired with hardly distinguishable raw vocals scratching the surface. The first minute pummels you into submission but leaves you with a masochistic desire for more. The song then takes a seemingly violent turn, slower in tempo but no less cruel or spiteful. Oag’s vocals now bellow over top of the instrumental, hoarse but deliberate. A few words can be made out from the chaotic ensemble, “I long for nightfall, I long for it to stop.” After a few more bars of heavy doom influenced riffs and the song abruptly cuts to a retreat from its aggressive nature. A haunting guitar part rings through provokes all anxieties. Oag’s deep growl cuts through the riff. Slowly the drums, guitar, and bass build to a sludgy breakdown that makes it impossible to feel anything but rage. “I’m ashamed of what I became, but it was out of my control.”
