Lyric Video Premiere: Lazarus Wilde – “Swallow & The Pills”

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Lazarus Wilde’s lyric video for their song “Swallow & The Pills” (watch it below). The track is taken from their debut full-length Breathe Now, which is scheduled to be released on April 7th through Cardigan Records. You can pre-order the album through iTunes.

The band comments on the song/video:

“This song is unlike most suicide awareness songs. I wanted it to really speak out in the most honest way possible to let those who are in need of help or attention that with just little help we can save many lives that are struggling with depression, anxiety, online bullying, and harassment. We live in an era now where we broadcast the violence that is happening in the world right now and we are not paying attention to the signs and the people that are being affected by what’s happening just around the corner. Our neighbors, our friends, our loved ones. It just takes a minute of your time to really listen to those around you and truly see what’s happening just at arms length.

This video is not intended to offend but to bring awareness of a very serious and on going issue.”

The mark of any true singer-songwriter is one that bears their soul in an honest, heartfelt way. Then again, such naked vulnerability can be deemed off-putting by the uninitiated. In a musical landscape often steeped in insincerity, it’s often uncomfortable when somebody pushes us out of our comfort zone and forces us to look at ourselves and the world at large in a different light.

Kenny Collette has spent a great deal of his musical career fronting numerous bands he has lived in various states on both coasts. Those life experiences have culminated into his solo endeavor under the moniker, Lazarus Wilde.
