Pestilential Rites of Infernal Fornication
(Iron Bonehead / Parasitic / Vault of Dried Bones)
Portland Oregon’s favorite death/black metal, anti-heroes, Weregoat, take no prisoners with their debut, full length LP, Pestilential Rites of Infernal Fornication. Start to finish it’s a diabolical offering of bestial bloodlust – no polish, no shine, just pure metal in its rawest, purest form, the way a metal band such as Weregoat should be.
Think Hellhammer, Celtic Frost and early Venom sped up and blackened from the piss of Satan, laden with enough headbanging groove to cause permanent spinal injury. The record is heavy and ugly, driving like a tank through a battlefield.
Ten gloriously sickened tracks of perverse, black/death including the album opener “Goatlust Invocation,” “Osculum Infame” replete with enough Reign in Blood era guitar riffs Kerry King would be intimidated by, and the horror movie inspired “Molested by Evil” brimming with enough creepiness to wig out Stephen King himself.
Weregoat works the line of lo-fi metal to perfection with Pestilential Rites of Infernal Fornication, in all its grindy, creepy, metal goodness.
