We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Souls’ new music video for their song “Spun” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s sophomore EP Forever in Bloom, which is available for purchase/stream here.
The band commented on the song & video:
“According to Urban Dictionary, ‘Spun’ is a state of mind that exists because of using an amphetamine for a prolonged amount of time, through repeated ingestion. It was a term I heard often in the environment I grew up in.
A few years ago, I worked with a guy that reminded me of my father in almost every way. He was a lifelong drug addict, as is my father, who i always resented and loathed when he was high. I once asked this guy how he got into drugs and he replied ‘My brother wanted me to get high with him, he stuck a needle in my arm, pushed the plunger down, bent the needle over while it was still in my arm and said ‘now you’re one of us.’
That phrase echoes in my head anytime I think of my dad high or the nights that I wait for that phone call to tell me he isn’t here anymore. When we filmed this video, I wanted it to embody the foggy, haze of disassociation that I feel he lives in now.”
