“The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you.” – Cecil Frena

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Cecil Frena’s new song “My Good Grades” (listen below). The track is taken from his forthcoming album The Gridlock, which is scheduled to be released on February 9th. You can pre-order the album here.

Cecil Frena first created music under the moniker Born Gold.

In the two years since Born Gold went on its final tour (alongside Purity Ring), the
musical nomad moved from Edmonton to Los Angeles and veered from noise-damaged
pop music towards an exploration of rock, past and present. That new perspective can
be heard in the furnace blast of melted punk that is “Unknow Yourself,” the feedback-
laden doo-wop of “Hyphen” and the searing noise-balladry of “I Want To Guard You
From Boredom.”
