We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Charles In The Kitchen’s new album Slice, Cook, Taste & Thrill (listen below). The album will officially be released on September 30th through Division Records.
The band comments on the album:
“Here we are, this is our second album. It’s been cooked with love and passion, and contains lots of different flavors, from modern power rock to swingy minimalist songs, from high tempo punk rock to slower psychedelic jazz rock. We wanted to be varied, and it’s gone exactly where we wanted it to go. We hope that every listener will find its piece of satisfaction in our dish. Serve loud, sing along and twist your rear.”
Charles In The Kitchen weren’t supposed to still be around. After all their aim was basically to put together a band for a single rock gig in… a kitchen. As they like to say, “Do not wonder too much about the CHARLES, it is mainly about the fact that we started with a gig of covers in a KITCHEN in 2011.” For that gig on 2011’s Easter they invited a bunch of friends and performed in such energetic and enthusiastic way that the house nearly collapsed. The band that wasn’t supposed to be a band got hooked and denied the pain of regret by staying together playing more and more shows and started created their own songs. In a period of two years they had come up with twelve rock songs and recorded them in the same year, in 2013. They kept playing and waited a while releasing their self-titled album in March of 2015.
After their self-titled album, the five lads from the city of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) are back with a new collection of 12 original creations. This time, pushing the boundaries of variety much further, they propose a full journey through modern rock’n’roll. Slip from powerful rock to dark ambiance jazz blues, through melancholic ballads and swingy anthems. Jump, shake, twist, shout, whisper or cry along, everybody will get its part of fun in this new record.
