We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Chinese trio Re-TROS’ new song “At Mosp Here” (listen below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Before The Applause, which is scheduled to be released on September 22nd through Modern Sky USA. You can purchase the single here.
The band comment on the new release: “Our whole new album stems from ‘At Mosp Here.’ It’s the first song we’ve written that moves away from the post punk/new wave sound we’ve explored on our previous records. With this song, we’ve opened ourselves to more possibilities.”
Re-TROS’ 2007 debut EP Cut Off! featured guest keyboards by Brian Eno, and is credited by many in the Chinese music scene as one of the more pivotal records to come out of mid-00’s Beijing. They’ve since released a first full length LP to critical acclaim, and toured the world supporting bands including Gang Of Four, PiL, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Paul Weller, Cut Copy, and more.
The new album – their first in 8 years – was recorded and mixed in Brooklyn & Beijing by Hector Castillo (Philipp Glass, David Bowie, Björk). It explores experimental soundscapes.
