We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of The Ultraviolet’ new EP The Tales Of Our Youth (listen below), which is scheduled to be officially released on March 21st. You can purchase the EP here.
The band comments on the EP:
“We actually started recording recording the EP back in 2015. We recorded 3 songs which were ‘Wake Up Dead’, ‘I Wrote You A Letter’ and ‘Signal Flare’ and planned to release them alongside 2 other songs we had previously recorded the year before. However, we felt we had since written stronger songs which would compliment the other 3 more appropriately so we went back to the studio about 9 months later and recorded ‘You’re Better on Your Own’ and ‘All I Need Is To Be Needed’. This is the main reason it has taken so long to release! Some of the songs are based on past experiences, some good, some bad. Sharing these experiences in song form accompanied with our musical style is really the essence of this EP. We want to connect with listener.”
A 4-piece alternative rock/pop-punk band from Boston, Lincolnshire who pride themselves in playing huge, tight and energetic shows, The Ultraviolet takes influences from artists such as Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, Fightstar, Mayday Parade, Feeder, Deaf Havana, The Dangerous Summer.
Over the course of 2016, The Ultraviolet have had success with the release of their debut music video “Wake Up Dead,” which has resulted in interviews, airplay and more recently live sessions on BBC Introducing shows. This was also accompanied by a UK tour and a bunch of festival shows which has resulted in the band sharing the stage with acts such as Lonely The Brave, Hunter & The Bear, Anavae, My Heart Is A Metronome, Grumble Bee and Like Torches.
