We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of 7Horse’s lyric video for their song “What is America” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Superfecta, which is scheduled to be released on December 7, 2018. You can pre-order the album via iTunes.
Joie Calio of 7Horse commented on the song:
‘What is America’ touches on how we treat each other in this day and age of social media run amok. It asks the question, ‘is this who we are?’ ‘What was it all supposed to be about in the first place?’ For a lot of people the ground we’re on just feels tilted. Which begs the age old question, “what the hell is going on?
Phil Leavitt of the band added:
I love this country and we’re lucky to see so much of it and meet so many of our fellow Americans on tour. I wanted to be part of the conversation. Not on social media but in our music. The way it used to be done. We were listening to the Clash. We were inspired to ask the question everyone gets a chance to answer on November 6th.
Joie Calio commented on the new album:
‘Superfecta’ is not just the next 7Horse LP, it’s a leap forward for us as s band. We chose to do things a bit differently this time out hiring Dave Way to produce it and really focusing a big block of time on songwriting ahead of the recording sessions. Previously we would have some songs done before a session but left most to be finished in the studio to ‘catch fire’ when the red light is on. We wanted to be sure about the direction of the sound and of the songs this time out. Love, money, death, and the power of music thematically run through these new songs. Our heart and soul is cemented in the grooves.
Phil Leavitt added:
This record is like a photo album of our lives in and out of the band over the last year and half. The successes, the failures, the joy, the pain, the love, the death and through it all the healing power of music. These are our personal stories but hopefully people can find something in there that resonates. After all, when you come right down to it, we’re all going through the same stuff.
