Video Premiere: Abraskadabra – “The Dream”

Abraskadabra

“The song is just a compilation of dreams I had. It doesn’t follow a logic, just situations that happened in different dreams. I don’t dream much, but when I do usually it is something crazy!” – Abraskadabra guitarist/vocalist Du

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Abraskadabra’s new music video for their song “The Dream” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Welcome, which is scheduled to be released on February 20, 2018.

The video is a wild ride inside the head of their vocalist Buga. The stop motion animation depicts a collection of different dreams he has had, which makes you wonder what the hell he’s eating before bed. The new album Welcome delivers the band’s own vision of the ska punk essence. Written as a whole band, they searched for a raw punchy sound while exploring the full capacity of melody. Instead of recording in a traditional studio environment, the seven-piece ensemble crammed themselves into an old house and captured everyone’s feelings and motivations in the moment.

About the band:

Arising in mid-2003, Abraskadabra is a seven-piece band from Curitiba, Brazil. The influences are diverse, intercalating mainly melodic hardcore and third wave ska, they make it clear from the first moment their tastes for melodies: evident in their vocal trios and horn section.

Abraskadabra has created a solid fan base and have played all around Brazil. In the US, their first tour happened in 2014. This tour stretched from coast to coast, passing through 13 states and 21 cities shortly after releasing a version of “Not Your Savior” (No Use For a Name’s song), which ended up in a documentary about the legendary American label, Fat Wreck Chords.

During these years, Abraskadabra have been always standing ground into relevant concerts, sharing the stage with all these great bands: Bad Religion, Rise Against, Flogging Molly, Fishbone, Streetlight Manifesto, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Pauline Black (The Selecters), Goldfinger, The Toasters, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Satanic Surfers, are some to name.

It isn’t just the 15 years on the road that settle the power and unity of Abraskadabra, but also the energy and passion they put into the music they create, being friends first and putting together one of the most solid and interesting Brazilian band nowadays.
