Milwaukee-based garage rockers Devils Teeth are back with their first full-length release since 2018. Looking to reach beyond their surf/garage/punk roots with a new album, La leggenda di Chong Li, out April 2 via Triple Eye Industries, Devils Teeth infuse elements of exotica, post-punk, as well as cinematic scores from Hong Kong and the Spaghetti West.

New Noise are proud to premiere La leggenda di Chong Li in full below:

La leggenda di Chong Li follows up the band’s 2018 debut Suki Yaki Hot!, reaching far beyond that album’s garage-punk-surf mold, and pre-release single “Ride Of The Devils Teeth.”

Following a sonic and narrative arc, La leggenda di Chong Li builds on the old sound with elements of exotica and spaghetti western, and with production qualities reminiscent of a rich Orbison record, to create its own Wall of Sound coupled with an other-worldly cinematic experience.

On the album’s release, Devils Teeth state:

“We didn’t set out to make an album about a character from Bloodsport. That would be silly. While we don’t mind being called a lot of things, silly is not one of them. When we realized we were heading down the path to this album, we just decided to own it and have a good time doing something different and perhaps even a little indulgent to our eclectic musical tastes.

Our last album was one thing, this is something entirely different.  Whatever we end up doing after this will continue to be badass and most importantly, fun.”

Devils Teeth are Jonny Glissando (guitar/vocals), Erico Bello (Bass/vocals), Chazz Bolognese (Drums/Percussion), and Il Snaggletoots (Sax).
