Through a dissonant layer of static comes the brand new Mind Monogram record, Ivory Hall. The soothing guitar textures are spacey, elegant and full of inducing a subtle atmosphere to one’s life just by listening. The record continues to present its extremely aware layers by extending the amount of room they take up in the mix, constantly finding new melodies to build upon with decadence. “Asymmetry” is a track that finds its grooves right around the middle mark, effortlessly floating with a beautiful rhythmic foundation. “Groundhog” showcases how much depth the guitars explore, allowing for the vocals to be enveloped in their orchestration beautiful. “This album is a reintroduction to Mind Monogram, welcome to our portal of audible escapism known as Ivory Hall.” – Mind Monogram
The Los Angeles based band Mind Monogram started out in 2014 as the passion project of vocalist/guitarist Edgar A. Ruiz who wrote, recorded, and self-released the band’s debut EP Moments In Time. Ruiz’s project has now come into fruition as a full band with the addition of members Christian Caro (guitar), Bryan Mejia (drums), and Billy Azurdia (bass) and have since been playing regularly in Southern California. In their new album, Ivory Hall, the band creates a genre-bending, experimental sound that blends heavy psych rock with a blissful fusion of jazz.
