After teasing the project last month and unveiling the new single “Naturally,” Portland, OR-based musician and producer Nick Arneson’s is releasing his new full-length album, Sunshine Guaranteed.

Arneson’s indie music is soulful, dynamic, eclectic, and “fucking vulnerable,” in his words.

The new album has Arneson grappling with the end of a 20-year relationship, parenting, surviving the pandemic, and how he came through to the other side. He calls the album at once dark and optimistic, a project made in a time of absolute turmoil and one of the more transformational times in Arneson’s life.

Arneson’s lyrics on the project come from honest introspection, written over a year of uncertainty and some extra time at home to hone on in the creative process. The album has Arneson pulling back the curtains, letting listeners in on his life and ultimately leaving listeners with the message, eventually, sunshine is guaranteed.

Arneson candidly describes the creative process that went into making this new LP,  “You’re 42 and you’ve never lived alone? This should be fun. Your best work will come out of you at the tail end of a desperate late night panic attack where everything feels like it’s caving in around you and suddenly like a light in the distance a new song will vomit up from some unknown depth and scratch the maniacal itch that you didn’t know was there until it was soothed.”
