New York’s A Place To Bury Strangers announced a new single and video recently,“Change Your God,” from their new seven-inch series SEVENS via Dedstrange. Every month through April, SEVENS records will be released for all their fans. Alongside this song, “It Is Time” is the other first installments of this release. APTBS focus and delve into combining their post punk, shoegaze, avant-garde music for two decades and not stopping their momentum one bit.
Oliver Ackerman, vocals, and guitars states, “Even though they are a bit raw and a bit personal, I thought it would be a mistake if they didn’t come out. I thought it be best to go back to my roots and put out a series of seven-inches the way A Place To Bury Strangers started: The strange, weird format where the tracks each speak for themselves with no album context to muddy the water. These tracks are such a contrast to the way I am feeling now and the current songs we’ve been working on, so slip back into this moment in time.”
New York City is a place where artists go to illuminate and carve their names deep in the city of music, smoke, and passion. A Place To Bury Strangers have become pioneers of their time to create and transcend with more newer vibrations and creations. With Ackerman being the captain of his ship and launching his own label, Dedstrange, he has dedicated his craftsmanship worldwide. From France, to Germany, to the Netherlands, and back to New York City, APTBS are just touching the tip of what they will embark for 2024. Touring all over the world and igniting 2024 with new raw sounds and courageous tenacity, nothing is stopping them. The band are currently writing their seventh album to be unleashed in fall of 2024.
