(Fat Wreck Chords)
Fat Wreck Chords has released The Copyrights’ 7” No Knocks in anticipation to their new full length Report, out at the end of August. No Knocks is a continuation of the same great quality pop punk that The Copyrights have been delivering for over 12 years now.
Drummer Luke O’Neill said that the song ‘”No Knocks” is written from the perspective of a well-off person, who has problems like the rest of us, although those problems are dismissed sort of as “Cry me a river, rich boy.”’
No Knocks has qualities that made me fall in love with their last album North Sentinel Island. Specifically in the track “Trustees Of Modern Chemistry” there is a sudden pause in the music and then everyone jumps and the song starts at the same pace as if it never stopped. “No Knocks” has the same effect and it correlates with the lyrics of the song. This is a powerful move on The Copyrights part. Buy this 7”. I know I already have! (Adam Vedomske)
