Pink Mexico
(Burger Records)

If fuzzed out, quick paced garage rock sensibilities are your preferred version of punk rock, Brooklyn’s Pink Mexico are a hooky and distorted treat. Charged riffs, lo-fi melodies and explosive pop qualities are all present in giant amounts, and though most of the album moves at a breakneck speed, a few less manic moments are equally memorable, while a prevalent grunge influence adds substantially to the appeal here. Imagine Thee Oh Sees, Sebadoh, Joyce Manor and Nirvana with surfboards and you get some idea of the level of greatness here.
