The Casualties
Chaos Sound
(Season of Mist)

Waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy back in the late ‘90s, I went to my first legit, non-local punk show. The Casualties were headlining that night, with The Unseen and Violent Society in direct support. It was the perfect mix of anger and energy that my then-teenage mind needed, and I loved every minute of it. Though not quit as raw as earlier efforts like For The Punx or Underground Army, Chaos Sound reaffirms that The Casualties are still going strong. There’s plenty of aggressive anthems like “Running Through the Night,” “Work Our Lives Away,” and my personal favorite, “In the Lost City.” There’s even a sped-up cover of Motorhead’s “RAMONES.” I’ll put it to you this way: if you’ve sported a mohawk anytime in the last twenty years, Chaos Sound will most likely be right up your ally.
