Smiling—the electric brainchild of performer, composer, songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Annie Shaw—are excited to unveil their newest project, Devour, brimming with psychedelic overtones, dueling guitars and violins, and layered vocals. The album is out August 6 and premiering here, exclusively at New Noise.

Smiling first started in 2015 under the name Annie Girl, before Shaw did several tours opening for Against Me! and heading into the studio in 2016 with Josh Pollock on guitar, Mark Nelson on bass, and Sonny Pearce on drums.

Their new project, Devour, was recorded where Thee Oh Sees and Ty Segall undertook much of their output, at the now-defunct Dock Studios in Sacramento.
