We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Bearstorm’s new album Biophobia, which is scheduled to be officially released on December 9th through Grimoire Records. You can pre-order the album here.
Biophobia was recorded in Richmond, VA on July 23, 2016 by Grimoire’s Noel Mueller, and he mixed and mastered the EP as well. The artwork was created by Karl Dahmer.
In July of 2016, Grimoire Records packed up their mobile studio spent the weekend in Richmond, VA recording the self-described “blackened southern deathprog” band Bearstorm for their second release with the hybrid label/studio. Bearstorm have already proven that they’re genre manglers, and on this new release the music is no more easily classifiable. (No Clean Singing). As one reviewer put it, “There are a lot of bands who treat genre boundaries with disdain, but few of them eviscerate the lines the way Bearstorm does.”(Brutalitopia). Their second release on Grimoire Records, Biophobia, spans 24 minutes and like Americanus before it, blends the “progressive inclinations of heavier post-rock with the acid spew of black metal.” (No Clean Singing)
