“It’s about coming to an equilibrium state, after so many years of constant injustice and selfishness. About possibly learning how to function as a society and as a species to help each other, instead of continuing to fuel our greed and self-righteousness. Burning the past to use the ashes to build a future.”
Since their inception in 2013, Illinois four-piece Altered Perceptions have left theirmark on modern metal. The band’s catalogue combines elements of djent, deathcore, and downtempo to deliver a relentless assault on the senses. A vast progression from their 2013 debut album, Void, the band’s 2014 EP, Transcend/Revert, put them on the map.
The band has gone on to tour with the likes of Northlane, Rings of Saturn, and The Acacia Strain. Cloaked in all black with masks to obscure their identity and match the music, their captivating stage presence leaves the audience awestruck and mobilized, incensed by the heavy, intense instrumentals. The band has left crowds entranced with their punishing downtuned riffs, violent percussions, and anguished vocals, all so intricately blended together.
