Lincoln indie punks Bad Ideas have revealed their new single “Give Up” (listen below), the band’s first new music since their popular 2014 EP The Better Parts of You released via Uncle M and Paper + Plastick Records.
“Give Up” is an auto-biographical account of vocalist Sam Cook’s start to a hellish year, as he explains:
“I started last year in pretty bad shape and was living between friends houses as I moved back from Leeds to our home town, Lincoln.
After New Year’s celebrations had petered out, I was sat in our bassists’ lounge feeling rough in many ways, and wrote what became ‘Give Up’, helping me to draw a kind of mental line under things.”
Bad Ideas head out on tour later this month playing shows in Brighton and London before embarking on a 2-week tour of Holland, Belgium & Germany with Isle of Wight singer songwriter, The Lion & The Wolf.
“Give Up” has drawn comparison to UK bands like Basement, Moose Blood and even The Manic Street Preachers.
