Aanthems are a hardcore punk outfit out of Vancouver, British Columbia.
They have a new single out called “World Inferno” off of their upcoming EP, New Ruins, on Early Onset Records. The single is streaming right now on their Bandcamp.
“World Inferno” has a sort of disjointed, funky beat that gives it a vibe of System of a Down meets Fugazi with a touch of the Blood Brothers. The vocalist delivers a classic hardcore style performance, while the lyrics are on par with the likes of classic post hardcore bands like Fugazi and At the Drive-In. The chaotic breakdown at the very end is especially powerful and fits in with the eclectic nature of the song.
