Blimp are a four-piece noise rock outfit from Los Angeles.
Blimp recently released their debut EP called Egg, and it’s currently streaming on the band’s Bandcamp.
First, “How to Please Your Man” is a fairly straightforward punk song except that it gets a little more noisy, chaotic, and discordant than your average punk song. Then, after a very extended false ending to the track, it comes back from the dead to deliver an even more chaotic noise to the song.
Then “Misery” is more of a slow-burn, with a Pixies-esque sense of slow chaos. Speaking of the Pixies, “Hand Mirror Suite” masters the art of the loud/quiet/loud song. Closing track “Farmer” is an epic moving at a glacial pace as it moves through nearly four minutes of ambient noise before assaulting your senses with harsh power chords. It’s a great album for any fan of experimental and noise rock.
