Chloe Mogg is an alt-rock solo artist from Stourport on Severn in the United Kingdom.
She has a new single out called “Heaven Sent You” and it’s off her upcoming debut album The Crazy One. No word on the album’s release date, but the single is available right now on Mogg’s Bandcamp.
Normally I don’t like to rely too much on the artist’s own words when it comes to their art, but it’s hard not to agree with the description of this song from Mogg’s own Bandcamp page where she describes the song as sounding “like Alanis Morissette collaborated with Jade Bird and Sheryl Crow tagged along for the ride.” There’s certainly elements of pop and alt-country mixed in with the heavy post-grunge influence to create a freewheeling, energetic anthem for everyone who longs for the glory days of Lilith Fair. It’s amazing that Mogg draws on a vague sense of Americana despite not being American. And her vocal performance shows such an amazing dynamic range that it really takes the song from good to great.
Make sure to follow Mogg on Facebook to keep up with future updates.
