Happy Friday, everyone! Chrome Lakes is a post-hardcore band from Seattle, Washington. They’ve got a new album coming out October 13 called Death at the Opera House and the latest single off the album, “Algorithm Funeral,” is streaming on their Bandcamp.
“Algorithm Funeral” immediately brings to mind memories of At the Drive-In, or perhaps more specifically the ATDI-offshoot band Sparta, who this band has had the good fortune of opening for. It’s a powerful post-hardcore tune that combines the best of hardcore’s rage with the purest melodies and some vocals that sound like a more relaxed Cedric Bixler-Zavala. It’s a song that certainly signals that the rest of the album is going to be a hell of a good time.
