Fake Lighters are a ska punk band from Long Island, New York.
They put out a new album last year called Missing the Boat. It’s seven tracks of truly classic punk that’s streaming on their Bandcamp right now where you can also add it to your record collection. (You’ll see why that’s clever in a second.)
It launches off with the cleverly-titled “Six Degrees of Eating Bacon” which delivers lyrics just as clever as the title. Then “Til the Cows Come Home” serves up classic, swinging, ska-punk guitar. “Record Collection” (see?) is a really fun celebration of vinyl collecting. “Pocket Change” closes it out with probably the most danceable beat on the record. It’s everything you love about the best third-wave ska revival bands from back in the ‘90s.
