Bandcamp of the Day: Fox Womb

Fox Womb

Fox Womb are a chaotic hardcore act from Gothenburg, Sweden.

They just dropped a new EP with the epically verbose title Even Without Those We Have Lost, The World Still Relentlessly Turns. It’s currently streaming on their Bandcamp.

The album opens on “Hiraeth” and establishes from the start that this EP is taking no prisoners, as the relentless assault on your senses is immediate and doesn’t let up with blistering guitars and  alternating screeching and growling vocals. “Into the Light of God” opens slowly to create a little ambiance, but it isn’t long before the powerful drums and deep, grumbling vocals shake the Earth from its slumber.

“Celestial Devourment” rolls out the blast beats to absolutely devastating sonic effect. “Milkbather” moves away from metal towards more hardcore punk territory but maintains the guttural nature of metallic vocals. “Blood Clots” is just a blast of pure noise rock in under two minutes. Finally the poetically titled “There is a Black Hole in my Chest That I Try to Fill With Flowers” keeps the brutality of the rest of the album but brings in a sense of melody that the other tracks lack, truly putting the chaos in chaotic hardcore.
