Bandcamp of the Day: Hell Cannon

Hell Cannon are a crust punk duo from Oakland, California.

They just dropped their latest, self-titled EP. It’s an unbridled smorgasbord of noise that moves through tempos faster than you can blink. It kicks off with “Drone Dropped Munitions,” which starts off with a mile-a-minute drumbeat before slowing down for its noisy finale. “Fuck the Past, Fear the Future,” the EP’s longest track at nearly three minutes, is all about funnelling political energy into a musical expression of rage. The EP ends on “VBIED,” which grinds the guitars into a hailstorm of fury.

Overall, it’s more of a hell rollercoaster than a cannon, and an exhilarating one at that.
