Living Body are an indie pop/math rock collective out of Leeds, U.K. They recently put out a new single called “NO DEBT,” which is streaming on their Bandcamp right now.
One of the unique things about this band has to be the double drumming, which I don’t know if I’ve ever seen before in a genre like indie pop or shoegaze, but it really works. The complex rhythms contrast beautifully with the clean, strong, harmonized vocals that are singing a deceptively simple melody. It’s a really unique experience to hear such gorgeous and delicate melodies with such a strong rhythm section. The lyrics are focused on the topic of debt abolition, which makes for a powerful message on top of an already strong track.
