Bandcamp of the Day: Object of Affection

Object of Affection are an alternative rock band from Los Angeles featuring members of Fury, LOCK, and Death Bells.

The band’s first album Field of Appearances comes out Friday on Profound Lore Records, and the first three singles off the album are currently available on their Bandcamp page. Opening track “Half Life” gives an ethereal feel to the song with the keyboards that play of some guitars that sound reminiscent of Weezer’s Blue Album. “Run Back” is even more keyboard heavy, giving the tune a distinctive ‘80s new wave vibe with some classic pop hooks. Finally “Con-Man” is a slower, guitar-based song with emotionally wrought vocals that really make the song relatable and cathartic.

The album is available for preorder on CD through the Bandcamp page, and the vinyl can be preordered through the label’s website. Make sure to keep up with Object of Affection on Instagram for future updates.
