Osi and the Jupiter are a neo-folk band from Kent, Ohio.
On April 21, they’ll be putting out their new album Cedar and Sage: Riders of the Gallows Vol. 1, and the first two tracks are available on their Bandcamp page now, where you can also preorder the album on CD and vinyl.
“Unto These Hills” has some gorgeous melodies steeped in different folk traditions like Nordic and American Folk. “Hollowed,” which features a guest appearance from Aerial Ruin, is much slower, using negative space to create a literal hollow song with haunting echoes. Even if folk isn’t your thing, there are some really haunting melodies here that anyone can enjoy.
