S.C.R.A.M. is a synthwave band from Oakland, California.
They’re gearing up for the release of their latest full-length The Inner City on Tumbril’s Wedge on October 6. The first two singles off the album, “A Rooftop Funeral” and “Slipstream Visions,” are currently available on their Bandcamp where you can also pre-order the album on CD.
“A Rooftop Funeral” is a slow, sad, somber track for a synthwave artist. There seems to be some sort of horn instrument, or facsimile thereof, which adds an unusual element that isn’t often found in synthwave. It really does feel like a trumpet playing “Taps” at a funeral. “Slipstream Visions” is equally slow and somber, but features a more traditional synthwave style. It promises to be a very unique album for this genre.
