Bandcamp of the Day: Seaxes

Seaxes are a noise rock band from Chicago, Illinois.

They recently put out a new EP called Die Twice. Opening track “Hello Memphis” starts off sounding pretty conventionally punk, but the vocals just push past that normal limit to take it to that noise-rock zone. “Son Dome” has a more primal energy, with the instrumentations getting very sparse at times while the vocals keep up that noise-rock intensity.

“Step” is a short song, clocking in at just over a minute, all of it spoken, or rather shouted, giving it a really raw feel. “Ball Peen” is just barely contained chaos. Finally “Sand” has an oddly infectious beat with those same, forceful vocals. It’s rare to find an entire album with songs that sound this different from each other.

You’ll want to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for future updates.
