Happy Friday, rockers! Staleworth is a post-hardcore emo band from from Long Island, New York. They recently released a new single called “Days Away” and it’s currently streaming on their Bandcamp.
“Days Away” hits every checkmark of what both emo and post-hardcore should really be. Opening with finger picking before moving into emotionally wrought vocals and lyrics dripping in dark poetry, the song never lets up on the emotional intensity, even in the song’s quieter moments. The simultaneous use of one singing vocalist and another screaming emotionally in the latter half of the song is a classic emo device that’s employed to great effect here.
