.stential. are a skramz/noise band from New Jersey.
They recently put out their first demo track called “Five Minutes Before.” It’s the title track off their upcoming, three-song concept EP. It’s currently streaming on their Bandcamp for your enjoyment.
Even by screamo/skramz standards, this is a weird track. The vocals reach an octave almost unheard of in any sort of screamo before, creating a really jarring and emotionally wrought track that wears its very raw emotion on its sleeve. Musically the track is very mathy, sometimes shifting rhythms on a dime to create a sense of complexity that compliments the brutal emotion of the track. It definitely bodes well for the full EP.
