Strange Ranger are an electronic indie pop group from New York City.
They’re putting out their new album Pure Music on July 21. You can hear the first two singles off the album on their Bandcamp where you can also preorder the album on CD or vinyl.
First “Rain So Hard” has a hopeful vibe that really carries through the whole song. While it’s electronic, there are definitely rock elements in there, with some pretty strong guitar parts coming through later in the song. Then “She’s On Fire” is a synth-heavy track with a solidly catchy beat that is, at times, almost mathy. They’re both a lot of fun and promise that the full album will be worth the wait.
