The Hold Steady deserve a Bandcamp of the day honor for putting out their first new song of 2019 and for just generally being good humans.
Their brand-new track, “The Last Time She Talked To Me,” is powerful, and the message behind the music is even more powerful.
“If you choose to download this song, a donation will be made to benefit the K+L Guardian Foundation,” the group writes on KBandcamp. “The K+L Guardian Foundation was formed to benefit ‘Jersey’ Mike Van Jura’s children after he suddenly passed away in November 2012 at only 36 years of age. Jersey Mike was the unofficial leader of The Unified Scene.”
