XweaponX and World of Pleasure are a pair of straightedge hardcore punk bands from Louisville, Kentucky and Calgary, Alberta, respectively.
This pair just put out a split EP called Weapon of Pleasure on Daze Records, and it’s currently streaming on the label’s Bandcamp page where you can also buy a bundle of all 50 Daze digital releases including this split. First up, Xweaponx’s “Paid in Blood” is classic straightedge lyrics and grinding hardcore.
“Dominion III” is a faster song and really demonstrates a powerful fury. The dual vocalists here really offer a nice contrast to each other. World of Pleasure’s half kicks off with “World War X” which is heavy and provocative. The drums at the beginning of “Uzis Akimbo” actually sound like gunfire, giving a sense of authenticity to the ovaries-to-the-wall hardcore track.
