2019 was another great year for music! Below is my top five best of 2019 list, in no particular order.

1. Doll Skin Love Is Dead And We Killed Her (Hopeless Records)

I discovered Doll Skin through Spotify’s Discover Weekly Playlist. “Outta My Mind” was the song featured on my playlist. I instantly fell in love with the song and went straight to the album to listen in full. These girls are super talented. Great songwriting and guitar riffs. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for 2020!

Favorite tracks: “Outta My Mind,” ‘Your Idols Are Dying,” “Love Is Dead And We Killed Her.”

2. Wage WarPressure (Fearless Records)

If you’re a fan of melodic hardcore, this one is for you! Unlike past releases, Pressure incorporates softer melodies that you can sing a long to, but still hits hard from front to back.

Favorite tracks: “Low,” “Me Against Myself,” “Prison.”

3.   Pkew Pkew PkewOptimal Lifestyles (Dine Alone Records)

I discovered Pkew Pkew Pkew a few years back when they released + One, 2017. Optimal Lifestyles is the band’s second release, but first off Dine Alone Records. This record is a mixture of alternative and punk rock.

Favorite tracks: “65 Nickels,” “I Don’t Matter at All,” “The Polynesian.”

4. ToolFear Inoculum (BMG)

Thirteen years later, Tool finally released their cataloge on Spotify along with their fifth record, Fear Inoculum, which climbed up to #1 on the charts (Beating T-Swift). I discovered Tool in my early teens on YouTube and have been a fan ever since! Favorite tracks: “Pneuma,” “Invincible,” “7empest.” Listen below.
