We’re pleased to bring you the video premiere of Better Machines’ live studio session at Blue Light Digital Sound in Mount Holly, New Jersey (watch it below).
The band retreated to Blue Light Digital Sound in mid-February 2018 to perform and film their latest release An Understanding of Time During Your Quarter-Life Crisis. The band is known for their explosive performances that perfectly match their dynamic music and this recent live studio session is exactly that.
Immediately following the release of the live studio session, Better Machines will be releasing a brand new single in late Spring and a new record in late Summer. Check out their Spotify, as well as their list of upcoming shows.
Self realization beginning from a time of youthful ignorance and progressing through elderly wisdom is the theme for An Understanding of Time During Your Quarter-Life Crisis, the sophomore release of dynamic jersey based band Better Machines. The record provides intimate insight into the mind of someone struggling to just get by during early adulthood in an environment saturated with unwanted pressure brought in by the success of one’s peers.
Better Machines’ stylized instrumentation has often been compared to artists such as Thursday, Defeater, and Glassjaw. Each band member pulls their own influences into the music to try and create something fresh, new, and unique. Listeners of the new record, and the band’s debut release Honesty, will be immediately drawn to the dynamic range of instrumentation inspired by heavier elements of early 2000s post hardcore, the atmospheric vibrations of current post punk and the deeply personal lyricism.
