Following the release of his visceral and expansive new album Seven Horses For Seven Kings, Black To Comm has shared the video for track “Double Happiness in Temporal Decoy”. Opening on sparse, resonant piano chords that ripple outwards through the low buzz of static, a lone caped figure explores a seemingly desolate landscape. Ambient noise from the video bleeds into the track, the rustle of wind through reeds or the splash of stone against water adding surprising new textures to the piece, blurring the lines between environmental sound and composed music.
Black To Comm is the solo project of German sound artist Marc Richter. Through his output both as an artist and through his eclectic Dekorder label, Richter has established himself as a singular voice of new music. A relentless sonic explorer, he approaches the studio as his instrument, using sampling, analogue production and digital manipulation to offer an almost infinite choice of tones and textures. Written during a particularly prolific period that saw Richter composing for film and theatre, apps and sleep music as well as touring extensively as Black To Comm, Seven Horses For Seven Kings captures the boundless vision of Richter’s studio experiments with the raw energy of his live performances.
