Plowboy Records announces official SXSW Blackfoot Gypsies performance at Atomic Music Group Showcase on Friday, March 18th at the Continental Club. “There’s no greater pleasure than having your days filled with playing rock ‘n’ roll, listening to music, eating tacos, and having a beer, or nine,” is how band frontman and co-founder Matthew Paige explains the music festival. Adding that the band is “more in stride with SXSW shenanigans now than ever before, and this time we are so very ready!”

The Atomic Music Group showcase will be the main event for the band in Austin, but some additional appearances have also been lined-up including Yard Dog Art Gallery (3pm on March 17th) for the PopMatters/Brooklyn Brewery/New Belgium Ale event promoted in conjunction with Plowboy Records/Smiths Olde Bar/Nine Mile Touring/Baby Robot Media. Also on March 17th they’ll be at Craftsman Bar (4-7pm) for the Basement East/Lockland Springsteen Showcase. Friday, March 18th they’ll play Maria’s Tacos (12:40pm ) for Sin City Presents Tacos, Tunes & Tequila and at Lucy’s Fried Chicken (3pm).

Blackfoot Gypsies are revving up crowds across the country with their American music — showcased to great effect — on their current album titled, Handle It. Seeing the band live is like watching the history of rock’n’roll unfold one gyrating hip shake and rabid fan howl at a time. Next best thing to seeing the band in-person is catching a music video and Ditty.TV recently got on board adding “Pork Rind” to the set on a recent episode of “The Curve.”
