We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of The Classic Crime’s new music video for their song “Ghost” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s fifth studio album How To Be Human, which is scheduled to be released on April 28th through BC Music. You can pre-order the album here.

Matt MacDonald of The Classic Crime commented on the video:

“We shot this video with a few friends in the basement of an old armory building in Everett, WA near Seattle. It had weapons vaults and engine rooms and all the right vibes for a haunting song like ‘Ghost,’ which is about the consequences of hubris and greed, and how if the truth is light, it can only be seen by the shadows it casts.”

“Songwriting has always been my quiet therapy,” says Matt MacDonald, singer and songwriter of The Classic Crime. “I’m not very good at being vulnerable with people, so writing songs is how I express what I’ve been protecting.”

In their first LP of new songs since Phoenix in 2012, The Classic Crime’s How To Be Human ends their longest break between records in the bands history. The break has felt significant for MacDonald. “A lot has happened. Some of us got married, had kids, started businesses, moved around.” “But when change happens,”he adds, “I tend to write it down.”

To record How To Be Human, The Classic Crime reunited with award-winning, multi-platinum rock producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette at his studio in Orlando, Florida. Elvis and his engineer Jef Moll both produced and engineered The Classic Crime’s first three albums, Albatross (2006), The Silver Cord (2008), and Vagabonds (2010) on Tooth & Nail Records, as well as mixing Phoenix in 2012, which was produced by MacDonald.
