Code Orange has announced details of their new LP FOREVER, to be released on Roadrunner records on January 13th, 2017. The follow up album to 2014’s breakthrough I AM KING, FOREVER is heralded by the LP’s title track and accompanying official music video which are streaming today to celebrate the announcement.
“Forever” as a song continues the band’s intense creative heaviness, rupturing with thick distortion and pounding syncopation. Despite not being the quickest the band has been, the song still features a frantic pacing with erratic progressions weaved together into one atomic beatdown. Like the music, the video is jarring as well, cutting between shots of the band playing their instruments and gruesome visuals.
Recorded with producers Will Yip at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA and Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studios in Salem, MA, FOREVER is a jarring and experimental body of work, pushing the envelope with songs like; “Bleeding In The Blur,” “Kill The Creator,” and “Spy.
Jami Morgan, drummer and co-songwriter had this to say about the song, “Everywhere we’ve turned, we’ve met a lot of ‘You’re not this enough for this, or that enough for that, FOREVER opens it up by saying, ‘Fuck you, we’re here. We’re gonna do whatever the fuck we wanna do, and there are no rules.'”
